Description
TASTING NOTES:
The wine holds the power and style of the fantastic 2015 vintage. On the nose, very evident notes of plum and morello cherry typical of Brunello, but also a light spiciness, with well-integrated boisé. On the palate, it expresses a great vivacity and energy. Well integrated tannins.
VINTAGE:
Average cold and dry winter. Spring with good rainfall and below average temperatures. Rainy and hot June and very hot summer. Constant grapes maturation thanks to water reserves and a mild September. The vintage was excellent in every aspect.
HARVEST:
End of September
VINIFICATION:
Spontaneous fermentation for about 2 weeks in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Maceration to extract color and mostly the strong aromatic profile. Malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks.
AGING:
Aging of about 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels of different capacity (10/15/30/50 Hl). Bottling in April/May following the most propitious moon phases. Long aging in bottle
